28岁的炼油厂电力工程师河合让治（小泽昭一 饰）没有任何不良嗜好，被同僚当作怪物一样的君子，但他朴素木讷的外表下却隐藏着鲜为人知的秘密。来自乡下的河合一心寻找一位美丽出色的女人为妻，而现今社会的浮华以及自己并不出色的资质使这个愿望显得遥不可及。 奇妙的机缘不期而至，河合偶遇浅草咖啡厅老板娘15岁的女儿直美（安田道代 饰）。他和老板娘签下协定，将直美带回家中进行文化、礼仪等方面的教育，希望亲手将她培养成自己的理想配偶。青春年少的直美任性、调皮，河合则不惜一切代价也要满足她的需求。但这种危险关系能够持续多久呢？
